Cooper & Company is excited to announce the award to begin construction for the Cobb County School District Data Recovery Center located on Glover Street in Marietta, Georgia.

The Data Recovery Center consists of 15,270 sf new construction of the single-story data center facility. It is a ground up steel framed, brick veneer building to consolidate the Cobb County School District Technology Department.

The project will feature new warehouse space, administrative offices and a server room for data management for the school system. Associated site work includes demolition of existing structure, grading, under-ground detention, paving and security fencing. The Data Center is expected to be completed late spring of 2020.

In addition, Cooper & Company is already currently working with Cobb County Schools on the Instructional Support Center located in the same area. Vice-President Jim Cooper speaks on the honor to work on both projects at the same time.

“We appreciate the confidence that the Cobb County School District has in our firm by awarding us the Data Center project located adjacent to our current project for the Cobb Instructional Support Center.  Anytime one of our clients award us additional work, it reaffirms that they are confident in our ability to meet and exceed their expectations.”

The Instructional Support Center is an addition and renovation to the current Cobb County School District Central Office that will take place in two phases. The project addition will total 73,798 sf of new construction and 43,080 sf of renovations to the existing building. There will be construction of a new lobby, Board Room and connector to the 3-story office tower. The office will remain open during this construction.

Once the new tower is operational the staff will relocate so that renovation can begin on the two-story building. Phase two will be the renovation to the current center office which includes renovations to the warehouse. The two phases are slated to be finished by February of 2021.

The architectural direction for both projects is being overseen by the team at Croft and Associates.
